Follow in the footsteps of Doc Orbell and see where takahē were rediscovered in 1948. This is your chance to visit the Takahē Special Area and hear about the work that is carried out here. This is a magic day out in the Murchison Mountains.

Please note: A high level of fitness is required to enjoy this trip.

Bookings essential. Cost: $60 per person. Thanks to the generous support of Real Journey the full amount you pay for this trip will be donated to the Takahē Recovery Programme. It will be used to pay for takahē survival monitoring.
